Kirby: Canvas Curse is a platform-puzzle-adventure game developed by HAL Laboratory, released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS and later available on Wii U. The game's central conceit involves Kirby being transformed into a ball by a witch, leaving the player to guide him through seven worlds entirely by drawing rainbow paths with the DS stylus. These hand-drawn lines function as ramps, barriers, and loops — steering Kirby around hazards, deflecting projectiles like laser beams and cannon blasts, and building momentum. Tapping Kirby directly causes him to dash into enemies, allowing him to copy up to eleven different abilities. The stylus also serves as a tool for stunning enemies and breaking certain blocks. Beyond the main campaign, the game includes timed challenge modes, boss encounters, and several minigames, making use of the DS touchscreen throughout.
